The Pace For A Sub Two Hour Half Marathon Is 9:09 Min/Mile! This Is My New Target Time For The Great Scottish Run 2012.
I think part of the reason why I haven’t made much progress with running of late is that I’ve been unambitious and haven’t set myself any race goals other than finishing and enjoying the race.
Well that’s gonna change now. My goal is to finish the Great Scottish Run in September in under 2 hours chip time. I’m well off the pace at the minute, but it is achievable with a little bit of work.
By reducing my weight and continuing to put in a decent weekly mileage for the next 2 months I should be able to get there.
So that’s my goal set. I’ll need to lose some serious weight before then When I was 200lbs I was capable of an easy 9:30 min/mile. There’s no reason I can’t get back to that point with work.
My 2nd goal is to get below 200lbs by the end of August. I haven’t been taken it seriously recently and my eating has been a complete mess. This is why I need a clear goal to focus my mind.
I can’t keep fucking around otherwise I’ll risk losing all of the progress I’ve worked for over the last 18 months. I can’t keep waiting for running form to come back to me. I’ve gotta go out there and sieze it by the balls.
It begins now. I’ve 7 weeks from tomorrow, but it fucking starts now.
