Running My 3rd Half Marathon And More On My Eating Regime.
Hope you’re having a lovely day today. Today is gonna be another sober one for me and I’m grateful for it.
I’ve adopted another high fat, low carb eating regime. It’s not strictly paleo or keto. I’m trying to keep my daily carbohydrates below 150g and when I combine it with my daily run I never really get that hungry.
Here’s an example of what I ate yesterday.
I’ve been following it for about 2 weeks now and running slowly on it is easy now. When I get cravings at night I will sometimes have a McFlurry or a fucking huge bar of sugary chocolate and it tastes fucking amazing, especially when I’ve been restricting the carbs for a number of days.
Today I ran my 3rd consecutive half marathon. This was quite easy. The last thing I had to eat before the run was the President Cheese last night at about 7pm. When I’m running off fat I kinda feel invincible. It’s pretty amazing.
The best thing about my run streak and my food monitoring is that I know for once that I’m getting stronger every day. Previously I’d spend days on end where I’d eat like shit, drink and not run and feel all my hard work go to crap. It was so demoralising and I don’t know how I struggled through all of that for so long.
Now I know that if I eat well today, I’ll be even stronger tomorrow and my 4th consecutive half marathon won’t seem like anything.
For so long alcohol seemed like a way to escape the mundanity and boredom of every day life. Now I’m working on improving my life so that there is nothing I need to escape from.
