Running For Weight Loss With Weight Watchers Week 1 – I Lost 0.00lb.
It pains me to write this as someone who supposedly runs a running and weight loss blog.
But this week I lost no weight.
It wasn’t a case of only losing a quarter or a tenth of a pound.
I lost no weight at all.
This time last week I weighed 211.2lbs, today I weigh 211.2lbs.
Disappointed is not the word.
Embarrassed is more apt. I knew I had to keep myself accountable to you for this and I am annoyed that even the threat of shaming did not motivate me to lose even 0.001lbs.
Still, I’ve been here before.
When you have any sort of setback you can either choose to quit and feel sorry for yourself or move on and learn the relevant lessons.
In this case the relevant lessons involve throwing the last of the Christmas food into the fucking bin. There was still so much of it left around the house that I got tempted on more than one occasion.
My Running Wasn’t Great This Week Either
I managed 29 miles in total which is way below what I was expecting. At the same time running is difficult at the moment after the holidays. I feel like I’ve lost so much fitness in such a short space of time!
Still, I’m not going to get back to where I was by sulking or being in any way negative. It will take patience and a few more tough runs before I’m there.
I can make it easier for myself by continuing to eat better and to run at least 35 miles in the coming week.
My Worst Meal Of The Week – Friday’s ‘Dinner’
This was from Friday. I don’t even think you can call this a fucking meal. I just went mental and started eating everything around me.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the Fanta Grape can. It costs £1.49 over here in Northern Ireland which is pretty fucking expensive for a normal can but it’s amazing.
Onto the positives
Despite all of the above last week was mostly positive with no alcohol and a lot of fruit and salads.
I’m pretty certain that I have actually lost weight and that I was just bloated from the Tuesday night food shopping. You see, we did the shopping on a Wednesday and I was therefore not carrying so much cheese and other junk in my system when I stepped onto the scales then.
I’ve also increased my daily Weight Watchers ProPoints limit to 49 from 47.
The problem is that I stopped tracking my points yesterday as I was on negative 30 points for the week. If I feel too restricted by a diet then my normal reaction is to just give up and eat junk and not care.
The increase in points will keep me from doing this again.
Anyway next week will be a better week. There is no more Christmas food and there are no more excuses.
