Reflecting On The Mad Year That Has Been 2012 So Far.
Went out earlier for a run but it did not end well. It was my 8 mile route around the top of town but by mile 6 the chest infection was cutting into me and I was wheezing like a whore.
I finished it though in 1:19:30. I’ve decided to call off tomorrows long run and just do another 8 miler at best around town. I want to be ready for the start of training for Paris on Monday and there’s no point in over exerting myself.
The reason why I’ve been running these half marathons over the past 4 months is that I want to actually run a marathon without stopping. I’ve always struggled most on the long run, so I’ve tried to give it a little more focus recently and it’s really paid off.
My plan is to run 5 marathons altogether by the time I’m 30. I’m 29 at the end of January so that means running 3 next year. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility. It will happen!
Anyway we’re in the last month of the year and I’ve been looking at my Garmin stats for 2012.
I haven’t been getting much faster but the distance has been consistent so from now on my plan is to just keep the mileage steady and improve the speed if I can. My plan for December 2012 is to get above 100 miles and hit 3,000km for the year if possible.
Whilst we’re talking about stats I’ve noticed that we’ve finally hit 50,000 visits for the site too.
The fact that 42,227 different people have read the shit I’ve written in the last 9 months terrifies me.
I hope you are all alright and not in need of mental help by now.
