No Running Since Sunday/Monday. I Have Been A Right Lazy Bastard.
So as the title would suggest I’ve been a lazy bastard. I set my alarm for 5:45 this morning but just kept hitting snooze as running didn’t appeal to me at all.
I’ve been trying to compensate for my lack of running by eating a little healthier during the day and it is kinda helping.
This was my lunch this afternoon.
The only problem with eating an entire punnet of strawberries is that they tend to go straight for your stomach especially when they’re consumed with 2 low fat packs of chicken sandwiches.
Fortunately I avoided a grand shit attack and my belly soon calmed.
I will have to run tomorrow regardless of the weather. It’s been well over 3 days now and if I leave it any longer then it’ll start to get tougher and tougher. Even if I hammer out a 10k tomorrow and the same on Friday then I’ll have an excellent chance of catching up on my 30 mile weekly target.
It’s just hard finding motivation at the minute. I’ve no races coming up in the near future. It seems like I’m running around without a purpose.
Since it’s nearly pay-day I will have to resist the temptation to enter a run. I keep telling myself that if I enter a race then the motivation will come back immediately.
It’s still far too expensive though to spend a weekend in another city. The costs mount up very quickly.
That said, I can tell my body is starting to miss running. I caught myself jogging again in the street automatically without even wanting to start on a run. Hopefully my body is up for an early state tomorrow.
If not I’ll have to drag it out of fucking bed and get out anyway! There will be no letting up now!
A few days of recovery never hurt anyone. Chin up 🙂
