New Best Day – Made It To The Start Of The Highlands
Start – Glenfarg, Scotland
Finish – Pitlochry, Scotland
I’m just in from my run but fuck me that was a good day.
I didn’t have to touch the shitty A9 road once. I was running mostly on backroads and lanes that make up the 77 and 83 cycle lanes through Northern Scotland. I’ve never seen anything as well structured as this and apparently this continues for the next 90 miles. Bring it on.
I stopped for lunch in Perth before hitting the cycle lanes. I regret the salad. It was shitty. I wish I’d went for the toasties. Toasties are the food you can eat when you have no appetite. They were my go to hangover meal. Especially on holiday.
203 miles to go now. I am hoping to have this wrapped up by next Saturday but if it takes a bit longer it takes a bit longer. My daily mileage average is about 27 at the minute so I have it in me to finish strong. Tomorrow will be an easier day.
It’s amazing how long it stays light up here. This was taken at 10:20pm. It was a really pretty night.
I didn’t encounter any fucking weirdos like ‘Big Man’ last night although I feel somewhat betrayed by the lack of biscuits in my hotel room here. The man downstairs said there was biscuits. I don’t mind if a room doesn’t have biscuits. There is no point in lying about it. Hopefully he sees the errors of his ways and puts some Jaffa Cakes under my door. Fucking starving.
