My First Run Back After Suffering Runner’s Knee – Another Slow 4 Mile Run In The Rain.
Steady was the name of the game today.
I started out slow to see if there was any residual pain in my knee and for the first mile I had the all clear.
The ache in my right knee came back temporarily between the 1st and 2nd miles which was ran on a hill. After that I didn’t feel anything at all.
My body feels strong running wise which is what makes this injury all of the more annoying.
Plan now is to continue to knock on slow mid distance runs and concentrate on getting some aspects of my diet right. It’s imperative that I take as much strain off my knee as possible through weight loss.
Losing weight will have a functional purpose rather than being part of a vanity project.
I’m still very much in doubt for the Lisburn Half Marathon on Wednesday. If I’d ran today pain free I’d have considered a long run on Sunday, but as it stands I just want my leg to get better.
I didn’t even notice I was running in wind and rain today. None of it seemed to matter compared to how my knee was faring.
