My 9 Day Running Streak Continues – 6.2 Miles In 65 Minutes – Entered The Great Scottish Run 2012
Awoke to Top Gear on Dave this morning. It’s the price you pay for only being able to sleep at night by dozing off to Q.I.
A totally unremarkable 6.2 mile run. Half way around I could swear that I was gonna fall asleep.
I closed my eyes for at least 10 seconds but snapped out of it as I had a mental image of tripping over a curb and going head over tits.
Finished with a 10:30 min/mile pace for the 4th run in a row. You couldn’t make this shit up. I’d push myself more but I can’t be bothered at the minute. I’d rather just run at my own pace and enjoy it, than making myself all tired and miserable. If I wanted to be all tired and miserable I’d get a full time job.
On a cheerier note I entered the Great Scottish Run 2012 last night. It’s 2 weeks before the Great North Run so it’ll be an ideal warm-up.
I’m definitely not running a marathon in the autumn. Will focus on my pace over the next couple of months instead. The worst thing about marathon training for me is the pressure of running longer and longer distances. At least with half marathon training the long run never goes past 13.1 miles which is a manageable distance.
