Life Is For The Enjoying – A Mini North European Tour In April 2013
I was checking out flight prices to Paris from Belfast for the Paris Marathon and it was working out at £200 for the return journey.
I had a look around at the nearby cities and seen that I could land in Amsterdam and fly back from Gatwick for less than £100.
My plan for the Paris Marathon is to stay in Amsterdam, relax and unwind there for two nights, catch the Thalys train to Paris on Saturday afternoon and stay just off the Champs Élysées overnight.
On Sunday I’ll run the Paris Marathon, see a lot of the city and hopefully eat a lot of cheese and croissants en-route.
From Paris I’ll get the Eurostar back to London, spend the night there in a decent hotel in Camden and then fly back home.
It’ll probably end up being twice as expensive as just landing in Paris and staying in a hostel in Montmartre but this way it will be more of an occasion. I’m already looking forward to it.
I booked my Brighton Half Marathon flights too and it only cost £50 for a return. I’m excited for the run, only because I want to visit the place that Sugar Rush was filmed.
In the meantime I ran 7.3 miles today and I’m gonna run over 10 tomorrow and keep the 10+ long runs up until the end of year.
It’s good that the clocks go back an hour tonight as it means the runs in the morning will be a little bit lighter.
No more accidentally running down Quays and tripping over my own right foot!
