Getting Back Into Running After A Long Break Is Not Easy. But It Is Possible Regardless Of Your Weight Or Age!
This time last year after the Belfast Marathon, I effectively gave up on running until July 2011. Whilst this might not seem like a long break, when I tried running again in early July it was extraordinary difficult.
I felt as if I was starting again from scratch.
Fortunately by slowly building up my miles over the following months I was able to get back into it.
From this I’ve learnt that it’s important to follow up on my last run as soon as possible as it will never be any easier to run a certain distance than it is now.
If you’ve taken a long break off running, then the same applies to you. There will never be a better moment to get out there and just a quarter, half or a full mile to get back into the way of things.
You make your own luck and catch your own breaks in this world and nowhere is this more true than in the world than with running!
