Finding A New Running Route In North London
Yesterday morning I completed my second run for December. I ran up the Great Cambridge Road and underneath the North Circular Road towards Southgate and found a completely new running route as a result.
In the past I’ve kept to the same boring and depressing routes around Tottenham which haven’t exactly helped my motivation to run. If I keep on running north I can get as far as Potters Bar in Hertfordshire so it’ll be good to see somewhere new for a change.
I’ve also noticed that December mornings in London aren’t quite as dark as back home. The first glimpses of dawn yesterday came at just after 6am. With only 20 days left to the solstice it won’t be getting that much darker before it all starts getting better again.
I ran 11 miles in total yesterday which I’m very happy with. Those were relatively easy miles too considering I spent November eating, sleeping and feeling sorry for myself. I guess the 4 consecutive 200 miles months have improved my overall fitness.
I’m feeling pretty fat at the moment which isn’t good. I threw my scales into the bin a few weeks ago as I was getting obsessive about and it wasn’t helping my mental state at the time. I’m going easy on myself though for now. As long as I remain booze free and I exercise then the weight will come off easily. I’ve had enough of the conventional fucking diets. It’s all a head fuck and plays into my obsessive nature which is a bad thing.
I couldn’t be arsed running this morning so I’m gonna have to do it tonight when I get back from work. I will try to update again tonight just so I keep to this challenge. I’m finding the sober blog easier to update at the moment though!
