Day 3 – I’m Going To Fat Camp

Another day and another deficit even though it was a stressful day
580 calories might not sound like that much of a deficit but if you take it over the course of a week, that’s over a pound of fat burned.
I started the day another pound lighter, but that’s probably the water weight from binging. I was pissing like a racehorse earlier this week so maybe that’s it.
Yesterday started well with a rainbow salad and then a kale ‘super’ salad. Then I was sucked in by the power of Lindt. A Lindt quickly turned into a fucking Dairy Milk. And that turned into an even bigger bar of Lindt.
It was almost as if I was re-enacting the Cold War but with chocolate instead of nuclear weapons and the only combatant being myself.
I ran 5.5 miles back from work but I honestly can’t remember very much of it. My brain just switched off.
I’m going to fat camp.
Since my contract has now finished, I’ve booked over a fortnight in the Algarve starting Sunday. My hotel is right beside the Ecovia cycle path that runs for over 130 miles in total along the Algarve. I’ll be uploading a route of the path to my Garmin for shits and giggles and I’ll be taking my wee gurn tour on the road again.
The path looks amazing.
I’ll have the option of running west or east each day. The idea of discovering little villages along the countryside is exciting to me. Fuck pubs and bars. Nature is where it’s at.
I’ll be posting my daily updates on this challenge whilst in Portugal along with pictures of the shit I discover along the way.
I honestly think I can come back from this trip at my goal weight of 195lb. If I centre the holiday largely around running, then I can’t see a reason why I won’t do it.
No fucking around this time. It’s time to actually achieve something I set out to do!
