Another 5 Mile Run – I’ve Now Ran Every Day This Week At The Same Average Jogging Pace (Roughly 5.8 mph).
Firstly, congratulations to all of the brave souls who are taking part in Longest Day Running and covering distances of between 20 and 50 miles each! It’s incredibly inspiring to see how much these runners are willing to put themselves through for charity.
I on the other hand have only ran 5 miles today. I was gonna go out for another run after dinner but my legs are feeling tight. Last thing I want is to be injured just several days after recovering.
I’ll get out again tomorrow morning and aim to bring my total up to 10 for the challenge. It’s the least I can do when I see the others putting in so much effort.
The 5 mile run today wasn’t enjoyable. It was difficult from the off because of the heat and my body just feel a little too fatigued. I might have overdone it this week a little.
Anyway I’ve been trying to keep active regardless and I’m just back from a walk around town and it was good to be able relax whilst making my way around town.
Walked for 3 miles and the equivalent of 5,000 steps on the pedometer, bringing me up to 15,000 for the day, my best yet.
One thing that I’ve noticed is how inactive I am when I’m not running or walking. Seriously, I just lounge around all day and eat chocolate. I could be making so much more progress if I weren’t bone idle.
Being sedentary for 87.3% of the time can’t be normal though can it? Even if I was fairly active or lightly active more often, I’d be seeing more results.
I need a major kick up the arse to get me into shape..
