Afraid Of Gaining Weight Back After Your Initial Weight Loss? Or Are You Afraid Of Weighing Yourself In General?
You’re not alone. I get scared now and again that I’ll return back to how I was at 272lbs (sweating every time I walked, wearing XXL t-shirts and generally trying to avoid humanity, whilst nomming liberally on pastry).
There is no reason to be afraid though. You will ultimately weigh what you will weigh. And that’s down to how you live your life from this moment on.
If you haven’t weighed yourself in some time and are scared you’ve gained weight from last time, hiding from the scale will not change your body composition.
You can only change your life when you acknowledge reality and move forward from there. Long term weight gain thrives off your denial.
Remember you’re 100% in control. Sure you might binge now and again but you can grab control back by exercising more over the next few days and eating a bit less ( the worst thing to do is to completely cut off your eating, as that will make you want to binge even more!)
I felt hopeless the last time I re-gained weight in 2008. I got down to about 220lbs in the winter of 2007, felt excellent and then just thought “Well I’m at my target weight and I’m fucking here to stay! Now pass the burgers!”
Fast forward 2 years and I was at 272lbs wondering what happened.
Now it’s 2012 and since I’ve discovered my main love in life running, I can naturally keep my weight down. But I still gain from time to time. That’s why I do the weekly weigh ins.
Keeping myself accountable on the blog makes it harder to stray off and gain 60lbs in a mindless orgy of pastry, Oreos and Cider.
So in short, if you haven’t weighed yourself in a while and want to lose weight, do it now and make a pledge to start losing weight today!
