A Rest Day Ahead Of Another Long Run On Sunday
I spent today on my ass eating pizza, watching the Olympics and drinking Coke Zero. I couldn’t have ran even if I wanted to!
Yesterday marked another excellent run. 6.7 miles at a 10:06 min/mile pace which is much better than the last few runs. I had planned to do an easy 4 miler as I’d ran the 4 days previous and didn’t wanna risk injury. But I was strong throughout and my body felt light. I just kept on with it.
The only problem I encountered on the run was my right foot. On a number of occasions there was a sharp pain at the base. I googled the symptoms and began to suspect that it was plantar fasciitis. Fortunately the pain has completely dissipated since then.
I’ve had the same pain before and I think it’s just an overuse niggle which is why I’m resting it today.
This run meant that I’d ran 41.5 miles in 5 days. Delighted.
As for tomorrow, I’m planning a run between 8 and 10 miles. Pace does not matter. I will just push on as far as I can and
