8 Mile Run Today In 82 Minutes Without Any Pain In My Knee Whatsoever
Today I managed what I thought would be impossible this week. I ran free of pain. I jogged for 8 miles without one complaint from my body or any negativity.
Well I tell a lie, I was close to shouting “BOOOO!” at an old lady who tried to turn around to face me (probably think I was a mugger) and by the time she was facing where she meant to be facing, I past her. Not because I’m fast, but because it took her about 12 hours to swivel around.
I hate the insinuation that I’m somehow mugger/murderer material just because I am behind her, stomping and breathing like a drugged elephant chained to a bathtub.
I have feelings too you know!
8 miles in 82 minutes at a 10:13 min/mile pace is a good pace for me at the minute. I took it easy on the first mile as I wasn’t sure if the left knee would start aching or not. When I felt great at mile 2 I kept with a 10:15 min/mile speed and focused more on time spent on my legs running.
There will be no more speed work this week. It’s all about gaining confidence in my running from here until Sunday (oh and not being clobbered to death by some old granny with a fine right hook).
