6.23 Mile Run In 64 Minutes After Having Pepperoni Pizza For Breakfast This Morning!
Had a great 6.2 mile run today but it wasn’t without trouble.
I was feeling bloated after staying up until 4am eating junk food and recording music. Then I woke at 7am with a banging headache and thought that the only solution was to have a Pepperoni pizza for breakfast.
Yes, that made sense in my head at the time.
I ate it down and immediately felt depressed thinking ‘What’s the point in running when I’m eating all of this shit? I’m never gonna burn it all off!’.
Fuck that though. Burning off the food is not the sole purpose of running.
I run to snap out of the kinda mood that drives me to stay up until 4am eating junk food. Or waking at 7am with pizza for breakfast.
It’s a struggle. But it’s not one I’m gonna win by sitting around with my hand up my ass. I’ve gotta focus on making better individual decisions.
‘Don’t have a fucking pizza for breakfast, dickhead!’ may well sound like obvious advice for any other human, but that habit is ingrained into me at the minute.
Anyway as I said the run was really positive. I kept a 10:17 min/mile pace in clammy conditions for 6.25 miles. I struggled over the last 2 miles but I have to start pushing myself as I’ve been lazy on runs for the past…….16 months.
All in all, a positive day and I won’t be having pizza for breakfast tomorrow. At worst I’ll be having a Pot Noodle Curry!
