16 Miles Today And Binging On The Toblerone.
Today was a really successful day even if I spent about half an hour in Poundland and then another hour in Home Bargains. I don’t mind both shops in small bursts, but anything longer than 10 minutes in either is enough to make me want to spontaneously combust.
I bought cashews as a running snack in Poundland but I was unsatisfied with them and went for a 4 pack of Guylian chocolate bars in Home Bargains as well. I love truffles and pralines. And chocolate. But you already knew the chocolate part.
I ran to Waltham Abbey and back. It was a bit of a miserable day and my arse was out for trouble from the start. I thought I was gonna have to make another emergency pit stop in the Tesco at Edmonton but thankfully my belly quietened down and normal service was resumed.
When I got to Waltham Abbey I really wanted to just stop and get the train back. Unfortunately it was one of those days of mediocre mental health and I was buying into all of the bullshit my brain was shitting out at me. I only wish I could get a restraining order against my brain. That would teach the fucker.
I threw away 2 of the Guylian bars and ate the other ones whilst running. They make for a pretty tasty snack whilst on the run and they didn’t cause any serious shit attacks so I can only recommend them.
The sugar really helped at the start of my run back. Had insane energy but it quickly died off once I’d burned it off. It was a complete death march from Ponder’s End to Tottenham but I survived it.
The binging blues.
I’ve wanted to binge on food tonight and kill my deficit. I had a 150g Toblerone and I’ve been researching kebab houses in the North London area but none of them seem to do BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce on a doner kebab is critically important to me. You can fuck off with your house or your garlic sauce. The only house sauce I trust is the one from the Moghul 3-in-1 back in Carrickfergus. I love it. I’m not risking a leaky bum just for the lols. I need to run again tomorrow.
I’m not having a kebab tonight. I can have one later this week provided it fits into my calorie counting. I’ve ate about 3,300 calories today and burned over 4,000. That’s a good deficit and my weight is starting to fall back into the 86kg range after last weeks slip. I’ve taken in just under 200g of carbohydrate on 16 miles of running. I’m not sure how that is gonna effect my attempt to get back into ketosis. I’ll find out tomorrow.
I’m waking up tomorrow in the best condition I’ve ever been in. That’s assuming I don’t get mauled by an urban fox later tonight. The wee fuckers are getting frisky. Gonna have to try something to get them out of my garden at night. Anne Widdecombe’s girdle would be enough to repel them for many centuries. They would choke on the fox hate.
Thanks to Ana and NW for sponsoring me on my Isle Of Wight Challenge fundraising page.
